The competition rewards projects from high school (batxillerat), higher-level vocational training (CFGS), and the artistic modality of intermediate-level training. It is supported by the Igualada City Council, the Rotary Club Igualada, the Ateneu Igualadí, the Fundació Unió Empresarial de l’Anoia, and the Centre d’Estudis Comarcals d’Igualada.
Representatives from these institutions presented the awards last Tuesday at the Igualada City Council, alongside the Government Coordinator and delegate of the rector for the Igualada and Pirineus campuses of the University of Lleida, Grau Baquero Armans, and Councillor Carlota Carner Carrer.
The awards are structured into three fields: scientific and technological, humanities and social sciences, and artistic, granting a first and second prize in each category. Winners will receive financial prizes, a trip to an international Rotary youth camp, and gifts for their tutors.
Additionally, a special prize is given for the best work in chemistry, which includes up to 1,300 € for university or CFGS tuition fees. Submissions must be presented anonymously, with deadlines set for March 18 for high school projects and May 18 for vocational training projects. The awards ceremony will take place on June 16 at the Health Sciences building on campus.
