The Ódena City Council and the company Aigua de Rigat have finalized water network improvement works in the urban center and Espelt, investing 236,000 euros to ensure a more efficient and sustainable service.

The actions, financed by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), involved replacing 253 meters of pipes in the urban core of Ódena and 1.4 kilometers in the Espelt sector. This renovation was crucial to achieving a 32% reduction in water losses in the latter area.
The works began in April 2025 and affected the streets Sant Pere Màrtir, la Font, and Hortes in Ódena, as well as the East and West sectors of Espelt. In parallel with the physical renovation, the deployment of telemeasurement technology has been consolidated.

"This investment is key to modernizing the network, reducing losses, and moving towards a more sustainable service."

This technology currently covers 93% of the municipality's 1,622 meters, allowing real-time consumption control and facilitating rapid leak detection. Users in Ódena can check their hourly consumption and receive automatic alarms if continuous use is detected or established limits are exceeded.
The manager of Aigua de Rigat, Francesc Giralt, emphasized that these improvements increase the municipality's hydraulic resilience and allow for more precise control of potential incidents. Full telemeasurement coverage is expected to be achieved throughout 2026.
