In Pujalt, a small municipality in Anoia with just over 200 inhabitants, one can enjoy impressive views and a historical heritage that includes remains of an ancient castle and a Civil War memorial.

Located at an altitude of over 700 meters, this municipality is situated in the northwest of the Anoia region, in the province of Barcelona, bordering Segarra. Its economy is mainly based on livestock farming and agriculture.
In the past, Pujalt held great historical significance, as it housed a castle that belonged to the lords of Cervera, later to the kingdom of Aragon, and finally to the lords of Cardona. Currently, only some remains of this ancient fortress are preserved.
The municipality, with an area of 31.4 km², is made up of five population centers: l’Astor, Conill, la Guàrdia Pilosa, Vilamajor, and Pujalt, each maintaining its own identity. Thanks to its central location in Catalonia, from Pujalt one can admire the Pyrenees, Montserrat, the mountain ranges of Pinós and Boixadors, and the mountains of Pla d'Urgell.
Among the places of interest, the church of Sant Jaume de la Guàrdia Pilosa stands out, built in the 12th century and renovated on several occasions, with a bell tower added between the 16th and 18th centuries. Another point of interest is the Memorial of the Popular Army, an interpretation center that displays the Instruction Base of the XVIII Corps of the Popular Army of the Republic, recovered and converted into a museum, offering a glimpse into life during the Civil War.
Finally, the Pujalt Observatory offers facilities for astronomical observation, organizing activities such as telescope sessions, conferences, and educational workshops on space and the universe.
