The Generalitat Fire Department is working to extinguish several forest fires declared this Monday in Sentmenat, Artesa de Segre, the area between Carme and La Pobla de Claramunt, and Vilademuls.

The most critical situation is in Sentmenat, where the fire has forced the lockdown of the centers of El Farell, Sant Sebastià de Montmajor, Can Gurri, Can Vinyals, El Balcó de Sant Llorenç, and Sant Feliu del Racó. Protecció Civil has issued an ES-Alert warning urging residents to stay at home with doors and windows closed. The fire, which reportedly started due to an excavator breakdown, has already burned about 35 hectares.
In the Anoia region, another active fire between Carme and La Pobla de Claramunt has led to the lockdown of several municipalities, including Capellades, Vilanova del Camí, Santa Margarida de Montbui, Castellolí, La Torre de Claramunt, and the south of Igualada. Emergency teams are receiving assistance from local farmers in these firefighting efforts.
At the same time, firefighting crews remain operational in Artesa de Segre, at the Comiols pass, and have managed to stabilize a fire in Vilademuls, in the Pla de l'Estany region, which originated on the shoulder of the N-II road.
