A train driver on the RL4 line refused to operate the section between Calaf and Cervera this Sunday after discovering water leakages inside a tunnel.

The incident forced Renfe to establish an alternative road transport service for passengers. According to union sources, the driver made the decision after reviewing a video showing the leaks. This disruption comes just one day after the full service between Cervera and Manresa had been restored.

"If a driver detects any incident at any point, a review is carried out with a double safety criterion."

Minister Silvia Paneque explained that this procedure was agreed upon with unions following a previous incident in Gelida. The protocol requires Adif to certify the infrastructure's safety and Renfe to confirm its commercial viability before resuming service.
