Two dead, four injured in A-2 accident in Jorba

The collision between a van and a car brings the number of road fatalities in Catalonia this year to 47.

Two people have died and four have been injured with varying degrees of severity in a collision between a van and a car on the A-2 highway near Jorba (Barcelona) this Sunday afternoon.

The Catalan Traffic Service (SCT) reported that the Mossos d’Esquadra received the alert about the incident at 5:35 PM. Three hours later, there were still traffic disruptions at the crash site, with one lane closed towards Barcelona. The causes of the accident are under investigation.
The injured individuals have been transferred to the Hospital de Igualada for medical attention. This tragic event occurs the day after a 56-year-old man died when his motorcycle crashed on the Bv-5301, in the municipality of El Brull (Osona).
With these two new fatalities, the total number of road deaths in Catalonia this year has risen to 47, of which 18 were motorcyclists.
