The Igualada Local Police recovered the ornamental Christmas tree that had been stolen from Plaça Sant Miquel on Christmas Eve, December 24, and sanctioned a 32-year-old man.

The theft of the ornamental tree occurred just before the holidays, last December 24, in the central Plaça Sant Miquel in the capital of Anoia. After weeks without news, the case was resolved on January 28.
Officers from the Igualada Local Police, while patrolling the historic center, located the tree displayed in the window of a house. The agents identified and issued a sanction report to a 32-year-old man for violating municipal ordinances.
The Plaça Sant Miquel is an emblematic space in the old town of Igualada, known for containing historical elements such as access to the ancient wall and various passages and alleys of original beauty.
Furthermore, this square houses the headquarters of the Consell Comarcal de l'Anoia, located in the historic 18th-century building known as Casa Padró or Casa Serrals, restored by the council itself.
