Two people traveling in a small plane from France had to make an emergency landing at the Igualada-Òdena aerodrome on Sunday, January 4, in the afternoon due to adverse weather conditions.

The aircraft, which was ultimately destined for Africa, was diverted by air traffic controllers to the Anoia aerodrome due to poor weather. Despite the difficulty, the two occupants successfully completed the landing maneuver and were unharmed.
The situation became unusual when, once on the ground, the pilots discovered that the Igualada-Òdena aerodrome facilities were closed and unattended, preventing them from exiting the parking area.
Given the impossibility of leaving the aircraft, the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters) had to intervene. They contacted the facility guard to coordinate the opening, but ultimately, with the help of a crew, the occupants had to climb over a perimeter fence.
Once outside the aerodrome, the two travelers were picked up by a taxi that took them to a nearby hotel, where they spent the night after their unexpected stopover in the Anoia region.
