After fourteen months of processing, the owners—the Dutch real estate company Redevco and JV Ares, who acquired the property in 2022—plan to commence construction in the coming weeks. The total investment for the purchase and refurbishment is estimated at 200 million euros.

The architectural project will preserve the exterior façade along Portal de l’Àngel and Santa Anna streets but involves an ambitious interior and rooftop overhaul, including the installation of solar panels.
The 18,000 m² building will dedicate the basement, ground, and first floors (7,500 m²) to three large commercial premises, two of which are already leased. The upper floors (10,500 m²) will house offices, featuring large terraces and glass walls to maximize natural light.
This approval comes shortly after the municipal government's urban planning proposal to revive the Capitol Theater on the Rambla was rejected last week. The Capitol has been closed since 2020, requiring the council to seek a modified solution.
