The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) has put out to tender a contract worth over 350,000 euros to carry out improvements to the wastewater sanitation system in Masquefa, located in the Anoia region.

The project, for which the deadline to submit bids is February 20, includes the improvement and replacement of 430 meters of conduits. Once the contract is signed, the works are expected to last eight months.
The interventions will primarily focus on the collectors responsible for transporting wastewater to the treatment plant, specifically affecting the areas of Can Parellada, Font del Roure, and Can Quiseró.
The main goal is to make the pipelines safer and more efficient, notably by moving the collectors away from riverbeds to reduce risks associated with potential floods. The project also aims to prevent obstructions and improve accessibility for maintenance tasks.
The Masquefa sanitation system, operational since 2002, serves a population equivalent to nearly 20,000 inhabitants, including La Beguda Alta, Can Valls, El Maset, and the Pedrosa industrial estate. Currently, the Anoia region has 20 operational treatment plants, ensuring sanitation for over 91% of the territory.
