The action, which began last week and will continue until January, aims primarily to improve the environmental quality of the fluvial space and reinforce the biodiversity of the surroundings. The work has focused on planting new riparian trees at various points along the route of the fluvial path.
This initiative by the Mancomunitat de la Conca d’Òdena helps consolidate native vegetation, promote the stability of the stream bed, and enhance the landscape integration of the entire area. The tasks are executed following environmental and sustainability criteria, prioritizing species typical of the riparian ecosystem.
The main goal is to consolidate native vegetation and improve the landscape integration of the green axis connecting the towns of Igualada and Òdena.
The tasks are part of the regular maintenance and conservation actions carried out by the Commonwealth along the fluvial path of the Òdena stream. This green axis connects the towns of Igualada and Òdena, and since its launch in February 2022, it has become established as a space for leisure and sustainable mobility.
