An Atlantic front will bring intense rainfall to several northern regions of Catalonia this Monday, with the Catalan Meteorological Service issuing warnings for significant accumulations.

The start of this April week is marked by the arrival of a front from the Atlantic that will affect the north of the peninsula and reach Catalonia throughout this Monday. This situation has led the Catalan Meteorological Service (Meteocat) to activate warnings for a Dangerous Meteorological Situation (SMP) in a dozen regions.
The warnings are due to the potential intensity of rain over a short period, as it could exceed 20 mm in 30 minutes. The affected regions include Vall d'Aran, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Alt Urgell, Cerdanya, Solsonès, Berguedà, Ripollès, Lluçanès, Garrotxa, and Osona.

"The Catalan Meteorological Service has updated the warning for rain intensity in 30 minutes. Possibility of precipitation > 20 mm / 30 min. Max danger level 🟡 1/6."

Meteocat
This danger threshold is expected to occur between two in the afternoon and eight in the evening this Monday, a period during which rainfall could be more intense in the northern regions of the country.
Despite the arrival of rains in the interior of the northern half, in the rest of the Catalan territory, the sun will be the main feature, and temperatures will rise again. This upward trend in temperatures, already observed in recent days, will lead to an intensification of heat, especially in the west of the country. Maximum temperatures are expected to approach 30 degrees in the Ponent area and the interior of the Ebro valley.
