The Val d'Aran is celebrating its main festival, the Hèsta d'Aran, highlighting its new singular funding model. This system ensures greater economic stability and improved resource utilization for the responsibilities assumed by the Aranese government. The Síndica d'Aran, María Vergés, described this reform as a "historic step" that reinforces the recognition of Aran's political, legal, and administrative uniqueness, as well as that of its self-governing body, thereby preventing its assimilation into a local administration.
During the celebration, the Minister of the Presidency, Albert Dalmau, emphasized the "historic fruits" achieved through collaborative work between the Government of Catalonia and Aran, particularly in consolidating a special status and institutional uniqueness.
Dalmau also announced that the Parliament overwhelmingly approved the decree facilitating urban planning in rural municipalities, which will now proceed as a bill. This measure aims to support population settlement and curb depopulation, addressing a long-standing demand from local councils and promoting territorial economic development.

During the event, the Conselh Generau d'Aran presented the 17 de Juny 2026 Award to the theatre group Era Cabana, recognizing their commitment to promoting and normalizing the Aranese language.
