A video circulated among residents of the Val d'Aran shows the sighting, captured by the driver while working to groom the slopes. Sources from the resort confirmed that the incident took place in the Bonaigua sector.
During the recording, the driver excitedly claimed to distinguish two specimens in the darkness, although only one is clearly visible, partially illuminated by the machine's lights. The animal fled the vehicle as soon as it approached, leaving a trail of paw prints on the packed snow.
“"They are the last ones to hibernate and the first ones to leave their dens."
Alonso, representing the Fundación Oso Pardo (Brown Bear Foundation), added that the concentration of snow at high altitudes at this time, combined with the bears still finding food at lower elevations, contributes to delaying their natural hibernation process.
