The balance of the Christmas and Epiphany campaign has been highly positive for the Nordic skiing sector. The seven Catalan resorts of Tot Nòrdic sold a total of 16,183 passes, a figure considered "very interesting" given the short duration of the period. This data includes day passes for skiing, validated passes for snowshoeing areas, and season passes used during these dates.
“"We must take into account the businesses surrounding our small resorts, which have also been greatly favored, such as rural houses and restaurants."
The abundant snow presence and "very good conditions" were key to this success, allowing virtually all circuits to be groomed and open. This influx has generated a significant economic impact in the sparsely populated municipalities of the Pyrenees, where Nordic skiing activity is often the main source of employment. Resorts like Tuixent-la Vansa (30 km), Aransa (30 km), and Lles de Cerdanya (28 km) maintain excellent conditions.
Starting this week in January, the Tot Nòrdic complexes are preparing to launch the Esport Blanc Escolar (School White Sport) program. This initiative will welcome groups of students from mountain regions and the rest of Catalonia, ensuring activity during the white weeks with the confidence of having optimal snow conditions.
