The Government delegate for Alt Pirineu i Aran, Sílvia Romero, has identified infrastructure and technology improvements as the top priorities to address historical investment gaps in the region.

In a recent opinion piece, Sílvia Romero highlighted that road improvements and digital access are the most frequent requests from local mayors. She argued that connectivity is essential for the region's economic growth and social cohesion, especially after years of limited strategic investment.

"Connecting the Pyrenees is a long-standing demand, and decades of lack of investment have accumulated many grievances."

Minister Albert Dalmau has announced plans to accelerate work on the Pyrenean Axis (N-260) between Xerallo and El Pont de Suert. This 280 million euro project is expected to significantly improve mobility in the high mountains through modern tunnel solutions.
Regarding digital infrastructure, the Generalitat has reached an agreement with the Ministry of Transport to deploy 470 kilometers of public fiber optics. The first phase will connect Puigcerdà and La Seu d'Urgell, providing essential high-speed internet for local businesses.
