The Parliament of Catalonia processed a new law this Wednesday to officially recognize the singularity of Val d'Aran, aiming to strengthen its self-government and institutional identity.

Supported by 107 votes, the law ensures that Aran's special status is effectively applied within the Catalan legal framework. The initiative was backed by PSC, Junts, ERC, Comuns, CUP, and Aliança Catalana.

"We must recognize and respect internal national realities."

While most parties celebrated the move, Vox opposed the law calling it dangerous, and the PP abstained, describing the debate as mostly symbolic.
