The Government of Catalonia has allocated over 121,000 euros to seven artistic and cultural projects in Alt Pirineu and Aran, aiming to strengthen the connection between culture and education in the region.

The participation of students from the Pyrenees in operas at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the promotion of reading with a territorial focus, and the use of new educational resources for cultural heritage are increasingly present realities in the educational centers of Alt Pirineu and Aran. These initiatives are part of the Government's strategy to promote cultural rights and strengthen the link between culture and education.
The Culture and Education Program, jointly promoted by the departments of Culture and Education and Vocational Training, seeks to integrate arts and culture into educational activities, facilitating students' access to artistic practice as a learning tool during school hours. This territorial deployment places special emphasis on the specific characteristics of an extensive region with low population density municipalities.
One of the highlighted projects is the participation of over 300 students from Alt Urgell and Cerdanya in the Liceu als centres program. This initiative by the Gran Teatre del Liceu brings opera and performing arts to rural schools through pedagogical activities, workshops, and attendance at the children's opera La cuina de Rossini. The goal is to consolidate the presence of music and performing arts in educational projects and create stable ties between centers and cultural facilities.
In the field of heritage, three educational centers in Alt Pirineu and Aran are participating in Els Ulls de la Història, a didactic experience by the Catalan Heritage Agency that brings cultural heritage into the classroom. Additionally, Pirineu Lector has been created, a project that promotes reading among children and young people with the involvement of families, libraries, and educational centers, highlighting authors and works linked to the territory.
The aid program for innovative artistic and cultural projects, co-financed by the Department of Culture and the Ministry of Culture, has enabled the launch of seven projects in Alt Pirineu and Aran with a total allocation of 121,324 euros. In addition, three projects are shared with centers from other regions, totaling ten multidisciplinary initiatives that will be developed in seven high schools, five ZER (rural school zones), and four schools in the region. These projects, led by local artists, entities, and companies, connect various artistic disciplines with the educational curriculum.
