The initiative, promoted by deputy Jordi Fàbrega, aims to connect Alt Pirineu i Aran with key cities such as Barcelona, Lleida, Girona, Vic, Tarragona, and the UAB campus in Bellaterra. The proposed services would run on Friday evenings towards the mountains and Sunday evenings back to the university centers.
“"If we want the educational opportunities for Catalan youth not to depend on their postal code, we must guarantee adequate mobility for Pyrenean university students."
Fàbrega, a politician from Urgell, stressed that the lack of direct connections, except for routes to Lleida or Barcelona, creates inequalities, increases economic and time costs for families, and violates the principle of territorial equity.
In parallel with the mobility demand, Junts has also requested detailed explanations from the Government regarding the concession of university scholarships. The party seeks to study the data from the last three calls for students in Alt Pirineu i Aran, Berguedà, Garrotxa, Ripollès, and Solsonès, aiming to reach more beneficiaries.
