Meteorologist Mònica Usart announced that Friday, January 16, will be marked by increased clouds and showers in the Pyrenees, preceding a weekend of radical change.

This Friday, cloudiness will increase throughout the day, leaving the sky quite covered. Showers are expected in the Pyrenees, especially during the afternoon, with an initial snow level of around 1,400 meters, although it could drop occasionally. Maximum temperatures will be lower compared to Thursday, ranging between 10 and 14 °C.
The arrival of the weekend will bring the first significant change in weather, featuring rain, snow, wind, and colder temperatures. Precipitation will gain ground overnight, advancing from sea to land and spreading continuously across all regions, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms.

The weekend brings the first major weather change in the coming days, with rain, snow, wind, and increased cold.

The snow level will initially hover between 1,400 and 1,600 meters, but will temporarily drop to 1,200 meters. Temperatures will fall further, and strong winds from the south and southeast will blow. By Sunday, rains will continue in the morning, with more scattered showers in the afternoon, and a more wintry atmosphere (maximums between 8 and 13 °C).
Furthermore, the following week could start with another weather change on Monday, bringing general rainfall, strong easterly and northeasterly winds, and a significant sea storm. Drivers heading to the Pyrenees are advised to carry snow chains and check road conditions.
