This Wednesday, the twelve general non-working days for the entire Catalan territory were made public. Additionally, each municipality will have the option to add two extra local holidays, thus completing its own calendar.
The calendar has been approved with the consensus of the main social and economic agents —CCOO, UGT, Foment del Treball and Pimec— within the framework of the Labour Relations Council of Catalonia.
The general public holidays for 2027 will be as follows: New Year's Day (January 1, Friday), Epiphany (January 6, Wednesday), Good Friday (March 26, Friday), Easter Monday (March 29, Monday), Labour Day (May 1, Saturday), Saint John's Day (June 24, Thursday), National Day of Catalonia (September 11, Saturday), Hispanic Day (October 12, Tuesday), All Saints' Day (November 1, Monday), Constitution Day (December 6, Monday), Immaculate Conception Day (December 8, Wednesday), and Christmas Day (December 25, Saturday).
A specific detail for the Aran Valley territory should be noted. In this region, the holiday of March 29 (Easter Monday) will be replaced by June 17, which corresponds to the Aran Festival and will also fall on a Thursday.
For instance, in Terrassa, the additional local holidays typically include Maundy Thursday and the Monday of the Festa Major, which in 2027 will be March 25 and July 5, respectively. This information allows citizens and businesses to plan their activities and rest periods for the upcoming year in advance.
