The new service is aimed at municipalities in the Local Consumption Network with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants that do not have their own municipal office, as is the case in Artés. The objective is to offer more agile and accessible advice, reducing response times for citizen inquiries.
Until now, the Diputació de Barcelona provided specialized consumer support through periodic visits from mobile consumer information units (UMIC) and via the consumer mailbox by email. Video calls complement these services and facilitate access to advice from within the municipality.
To use the service, interested individuals must contact the Artés Town Council to request an appointment. Municipal technical staff will verify that the query falls within the scope of consumer affairs and, if appropriate, schedule the appointment. The video call can be made from any device with an internet connection.
This new channel will allow users to receive specialized advice from the consumer technical staff of the Diputació de Barcelona to manage inquiries and file consumer complaints, claims, or reports, thereby facilitating the exercise of citizens' rights.
