Engineer Òscar Playà, the incoming CEO of Rodalies de Catalunya, will serve as the town crier for the Sant Vicenç de Castellet Winter Festival on Thursday, January 22 at the municipal auditorium.

Playà's selection as town crier comes at a crucial point in his professional career, coinciding with the announcement of his appointment as the head of the new joint company managing Rodalies and Regional services in Catalonia. This appointment was announced by the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, this Monday.
Although the Telecommunications engineer currently lives in Barcelona, he maintains a strong connection with Sant Vicenç de Castellet, his birthplace (1973), where he still has family ties and is often seen walking around places like Vallhonesta.
Prior to this new position, Òscar Playà directed the TMB metro network and has over twenty years of experience in management and leadership within the field of railway mobility in Barcelona and its Metropolitan Area. He also served as director of T-mobilitat at the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM).
Playà holds a degree from Salle-Universitat Ramon Llull and an executive Master in Public Management from ESADE, in addition to having completed the general management program at IESE.
