Castellbell i el Vilar is programming a new edition of the International Choral Singing Festival Catalunya Centre this October, marking its 46th edition. The event will feature three musical performances taking place on October 9, 10, and 11, at 9:00 PM, at the Casino Burés. Tickets and further information can be found on the festival's website.
The Festival aims to showcase the diverse facets of choral singing. This year, as a new development, participating choirs will not be staying in the municipality due to increased logistical expenses. The organization assures the maintenance of musical quality and a varied program.
The festival kicks off on Friday, October 9, with Vocal Vircan, an eight-member a cappella vocal group, some of Georgian origin, who will present a repertoire of Georgia's polyphonic tradition. On Saturday, October 10, Sound Six will perform, a female choir that was a finalist on the TV3 program 'Oh Happy Day', known for its arrangements and performances.
The festival concludes on Sunday, October 11, with Barcelona Show Choir. This group of over 40 singers, directed by Gerard Ibáñez, will present a show combining choral music with choreographic movement and staging.
Before the concerts, the courtyard of the Casino Burés will offer a festive atmosphere with two food trucks to complete the event experience.
