The GAMMA 2026 festival has launched in Pardinyes, turning the neighborhood into an urban art showcase in Lleida. The initiative features four large-format murals and a schedule of participatory activities running until Sunday, October 4th. The mayor, Fèlix Larrosa, accompanied by deputy mayor Carlos Enjuanes and councilor Pilar Bosch, visited the mural by artist Guillem Font on Roger de Llúria street and met with the festival's creators and directors.
The mayor highlighted the role of urban art as a tool for transforming and dignifying public spaces, emphasizing that GAMMA helps showcase artistic talent and create new identity elements in the neighborhoods. Larrosa underscored the significance of holding this edition in Pardinyes, a neighborhood that has undergone notable evolution, reinforcing its centrality and projecting an active and dynamic image.
The murals will be created by Guillem Font, Marta Lapeña, Slim Safont, and Txus Montejano, located respectively on Roger de Llúria street, the Plusfresc parking lot, Miquel de Cortiada street, and Jaume d'Agramunt street. The artistic and technical direction is handled by Blai Baules and Francesca Vasile (CactuSoup). The works draw inspiration from the identity elements of Pardinyes, such as the market, popular festivals, the Parc de la Mitjana, and urban culture.
The festival program includes participatory activities such as guided tours with the artists, mural art workshops, and interventions led by the Escola d'Art Ondara of Tàrrega and the Escola Municipal d'Art Leandre Cristòfol of Lleida. Tattoo artist Sile and muralist Oriol Arumí will lead the transformation of the wall at the Centre Municipal de Piragüisme, while Jordi Tordera (Coba) will conduct a graffiti workshop in plaça del Marraco. Illustrator Matías Tolsà will also participate with portraits and ephemeral artistic interventions.
GAMMA focuses on generating artistic interventions in different neighborhoods of Lleida, aiming to transform them and highlight their community. In previous editions, the festival has taken place in Balàfia and Mangraners. This edition brings together local, national, and state artists, consolidating GAMMA as a space for artistic encounters and citizen participation, with the goal of placing Lleida on the map of major urban art festivals.
The festival is organized by the Ajuntament de Lleida with support from the Fundació de les Arts, the Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs (Diputació de Lleida), and the Generalitat de Catalunya. It collaborates with Montana Cans, Pintures Tarròs, Tecnitel, the Escola d'Art Ondara, the Escola d'Art Municipal Leandre Cristòfol, the association Orvepard, Comercial Mateu, Lleida Turisme, and the Regidoria de Participació.
