The City Council of Castellbell i el Vilar has requested urgent action from the Generalitat de Catalunya to end traffic accidents on the final stretch of the C-58, a blackspot that worsens during rain.

This Thursday, two new incidents occurred at kilometer 37.5 of this road, a point that provides access to the neighborhoods of La Bauma and the urbanization of La Vall de Montserrat. The council considers the situation unacceptable and urges the Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition to rectify the danger of this section, where currently only plastic bollards separate the two directions of traffic.
The mayor, Adrià Valls, has called on the Directorate General of Roads to assume its responsibility and install a concrete median. The objective is to prevent vehicles from entering the opposite lane and to avoid head-on collisions. The council has repeatedly requested a meeting with the road authorities to address this issue.
The City Council also wished to express gratitude for the swift intervention of security and emergency services. In Thursday's accidents, the Municipal Guard was the first to arrive, followed by Firefighters, the SEM (Emergency Medical Service), and the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police). The council insists on the need for prompt action to correct this blackspot, which has seen a high number of accidents, especially during rainfall.
