The data extracted from the R4 train recorder, which collided with the fallen wall near Gelida, confirmed the extreme circumstances of the accident. This technical information highlights the practical impossibility for the crew to avoid the collision, given the minimal reaction time available.
In parallel, the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, offered details regarding the infrastructure's responsibility. Puente explained that the wall that collapsed was the direct responsibility of Carreteres (Roads) and not Adif, the railway infrastructure manager.
The Minister also added that the structure had been subject to three different inspections between 2023 and 2025, without any imminent structural problems being detected that would have predicted the collapse that caused the accident. This information is crucial for the ongoing investigation into the causes of the failure.
