Pedro Sánchez briefly addressed the Rodalies (commuter rail) crisis to send a message of reassurance to Catalan citizens. He stated that his government is "working day and night, and shoulder to shoulder, with the Generalitat" to ensure the safety of the service.
“"We are working day and night, and shoulder to shoulder, with the Generalitat so that a decent and safe Rodalies service is reestablished, which is what the citizens of Catalonia deserve."
The Spanish President also showed his "recognition" to the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, for his management of the railway tragedies in Adamuz and Gelida, emphasizing that he "is managing it and facing the situation from the first moment".
Sánchez highlighted the difference in the response to tragedies, stating that his government has responded "by putting the victims at the center of its priorities, with empathy, efficiency, transparency, and unity," and called for "setting aside sterile political confrontation".
Finally, the Spanish President addressed the international political situation, defending that Spain seeks transatlantic relations "as equals" and indirectly responded to criticism from Donald Trump regarding defense spending, while claiming the investment of 41 million euros to strengthen the Armed Forces.
