A young Iranian woman living in Manresa denounced this March the climate of terror and surveillance exercised by the Iran regime over its citizens, even those residing abroad.

Using the pseudonym Nasim Riahi to protect her identity, she explains that the Iranian government tracks critical opinions online. Her fear extends to her family members still in Iran, following the brutal crackdown on protests in late 2025.

"It burns inside not being able to say anything. The government looks for those who speak out and would hurt the family left behind."

The witness describes economic collapse and corruption pushing the population to the brink. According to Riahi, many Iranians seek regime change and highlight the hypocrisy of leaders whose families live freely in Europe or Canada.
