The digital economy now generates a quarter of Catalonia's wealth as Barcelona attracts global tech investment.

The Mobile World Congress 2026 has highlighted the central role of Artificial Intelligence in Barcelona, with 56% of 4YFN startups now utilizing this technology.

Catalan startups are showcasing innovative solutions such as Ephion Health, which uses AI to analyze gait and monitor health conditions. Other projects include Agrikola's autonomous farming robot and Momentum Analytics' platform for the elderly.

According to Acció, Barcelona is now the world's third city in attracting foreign investment for AI projects, trailing only London and Singapore. The digital sector currently accounts for 25% of the regional economy.
