The restructuring of the basketball club's charitable side will feature three key figures to project it forward: former International Olympic Committee Vice President, Pere Miró, as a board member; former skeleton pilot Ander Mirambell as executive manager; and the advice of businessman Josep Cortada.
“"You not only represent a professional basketball team, but a philosophy, a way of being, and you play not just for the entity, but for the people of the city, who live for basketball."
During the presentation, held at the Mútua Intercomarcal de Manresa, club president Josep Maria Herms explained that the foundation's new phase aims to open up through two blocks: the values of basketball as a sport and the club's own values. The goal is to work both locally, in the city and the Bages region, and internationally.
Ander Mirambell, who has strong personal ties to Manresa, led the presentation, emphasizing the vision of “doing things that are unique to us and that cannot be done in Badalona, Girona, or Lleida.” He highlighted the importance of rootedness, non-discrimination, social responsibility, and integral education as essential values for creating a lasting legacy.
“"When you go abroad, they always ask how it is that with the resources we have, we can last so many years in the elite."
Miró, a favorite son of the Bages capital since last July, admitted that one reason for accepting the position is the resilience represented by Bàsquet Manresa. The new leaders announced that the detailed roadmap and specific social projects of the foundation will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
