The victory for Baxi Manresa in Lleida was an exercise in solidity, despite their best player, Obasohan, failing to score. The team from Bages based their triumph on spectacular accuracy in outside shooting during the first half and resilience in the second. This result is threefold: it increases the distance from relegation, equals Hiopos Lleida in the standings, and secures the tie-breaker average.
The start was slow, but the entry of Ubal energized the Manresa attack, with two three-pointers from the Uruguayan, followed by successful shots from Steinbergs and Oriola. Despite the local resistance led by Batemon, who quickly scored 11 points, Baxi's three-point percentage was devastating, hitting 7 of 9 attempts to close the first quarter 19-25.
The barrage of three-pointers continued in the second period. With two more from Steinbergs, one from Olinde, and one from Reyes, the score widened significantly. Bassas's final three-pointer capped an incredible first half with 13 of 18 from beyond the arc, leading to a halftime score of 43-54, despite Batemon's 25 points.
The third quarter proved the most difficult, featuring a 7-0 run for Lleida that brought the Barris Nord pavilion to a boil. Despite a technical foul on coach Ocampo and the injury to Obasohan, Baxi maintained control. In the final quarter, a three-pointer by Ubal and another by Oriola, who was celebrating his 400th ACB game, sealed the victory at 78-94, demonstrating the Manresa team's superior hierarchy.
