The Government of Catalonia and Comuns have reached a preliminary agreement for the 2026 budget, making Bages mobility a strategic priority through the transfer of the R4 north railway line.

The agreed document states that the joint venture Rodalies de Catalunya will take over the management of the line connecting Bages with the Barcelona metropolitan area. This move involves segregating the northern section of the current R4 line to streamline the transfer of powers from the Ministry of Transport.
Beyond the rail network, the pact includes 21 million euros to strengthen 29 intercity bus lines. Key services include the Manresa and Puigcerdà connections to Barcelona. Additionally, the 50% discount on public transport passes will be extended until 2028.
Regarding the Bages Tram-Train project, the agreement prioritizes the section between Manresa and Santpedor. The plan includes new stations at la Parada and Parc de l'Agulla, utilizing existing tracks for passenger transport in future phases.
