A family with three minor children was evicted from their apartment on Vilanova street in Manresa this Friday morning, requiring the intervention of the Mossos d'Esquadra to secure the proceedings.

The action took place early in the morning, marking the third time the eviction had been attempted. On the two previous occasions, including the one last October, it had been successfully halted. The judicial commission arrived at 8:30 AM.
About thirty members of the Platform of People Affected by Mortgages and Capitalism (PAHC) mobilized to try to prevent the eviction. However, the Mossos d’Esquadra had previously cordoned off access to Vilanova street with several vans, preventing activists from approaching.

"The family suffered absolute defenselessness in the face of an extremely difficult situation."

The PAHC reported that officers even prevented the platform member tasked with speaking to the judicial commission and supporting the family from accessing the area during the process.
The property is owned by the vulture fund Reigahill Invest, based in Madrid. According to the platform, attempts to negotiate a social rent agreement with the owner were unsuccessful. The Manresa City Council has provided the family with a temporary accommodation solution.
