Teacher Alba Baltiérrez and the scouting movement of Manresa received the Séquia Awards this Wednesday at the Water and Textile Museum, highlighting the essential role of committed education in society.

Organized by the Aigües de Manresa Foundation and UManresa-FUB, these awards have spent a decade celebrating individuals and groups that contribute to the progress of Manresa. The event took place during the traditional Festa de la Llum celebrations.
Alba Baltiérrez was honored for her career as a founder of the Flama school in 1970 and her ongoing social work. The city's four scouting groups were also recognized for their long-standing dedication to teaching values such as responsibility, coexistence, and environmental respect.

"The educational world is being devalued; there is a lack of resources and pedagogical disorientation."
