The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested former CUP councilor Aniol Vila this Tuesday at the Santpedor Town Hall for resisting authority during a protest against Aliança Catalana joining the local government.

The events took place this Tuesday afternoon in the Bages region. The arrest of Aniol Vila occurred amidst high tension during the plenary session at Santpedor Town Hall, where several residents and activists were protesting the entry of Aliança Catalana representatives.

"The first ones to enter the session tried to deprive other councilors of access to the plenary."

According to CUP councilors Aina Fernández and Rubén López, police blocked local residents from entering while allowing access to outsiders. This situation led to scuffles and moments of confrontation with the Mossos d'Esquadra when they moved to detain Vila.
Following the arrest, about twenty people moved to the Manresa police station. The group remained peaceful while waiting for the former councilor's release, under the supervision of a preventive police deployment.
