The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 PM at kilometer 37.5. Two vehicles were involved in a side-swipe collision. One passenger had to be rescued by the Bombers de la Generalitat fire service after becoming trapped in one of the cars.

Emergency services (SEM) deployed four units to the scene. Two serious casualties were taken to Mútua de Terrassa, while the other two victims were transported to Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Manresa.
