The Association of Architects for the Defense and Intervention in Architectural Heritage (AADIPA) launched a national cycle in Igualada this Sunday to protect and promote recent Catalan architecture.

Titled Contemporary Heritage: Knowing, Valuing, Preserving, the initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of buildings from the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. This event marks the start of several visits across Catalonia.

"Heritage is not only that which comes from centuries ago."

Josep Maria Boronat Pujals · President of AADIPA
The main stop of the tour was the Igualada New Cemetery, an influential work by Enric Miralles and Carme Pinós. The program will continue this month in Sallent and Girona, later expanding to other regions such as Lleida and Tarragona.
