The municipal group Impulsem Manresa, through its president Joan Vila, expressed rejection of debating international motions, such as the one by Fem Manresa regarding Venezuela, during the January plenary session, citing the high cost of the meeting.

The controversy arose during the debate of a motion presented by Fem Manresa condemning the imperialist interference of the US in Venezuela. Vila stated his disagreement with dedicating any “of the 30,000 euros that each plenary costs” to such topics.
The president of Impulsem urged the plenary of the Manresa City Council to focus exclusively on issues over which the municipal corporation does have direct competencies and capacity for action.

"In the Manresa City Council plenary, we do not only manage sidewalks but we also represent values."

Boix added that, following Impulsem's logic, it would seem the group would “abolish the Municipal Council of Solidarity” and any area of cooperation carried out by the City Council. This marks the first time a politician has quantified the cost of an ordinary session in Manresa at 30,000 euros.
