The political parties led by Carles Puigdemont and Salvador Illa have started a strategic race to secure the support of local mayors and independent platforms for the 2027 elections.

Junts has already renewed its partnership with Impulsem Lleida and is finalizing a similar deal with Impulsem Penedès. This move aims to consolidate the post-convergent space under a single umbrella, despite previous tensions in supramunicipal institutions like the Barcelona Provincial Council.
Meanwhile, the PSC is building bridges with Ara Pacte Local, a platform that includes former members of the PDECat. The appointment of David Bonvehí to a government position under Salvador Illa has strengthened ties between the socialists and several local mayors who seek institutional stability.
In Manresa, Junts has officially confirmed Ramon Bacardit as their candidate. The party expects to have most of its mayoral candidates selected by the summer of 2026, focusing on strategic towns in the Bages, Anoia, and Garraf regions.
