Junts Bages demands C-16 toll removal due to chronic Rodalies collapse

The party considers it a territorial grievance that C-32 barriers were lifted in Garraf but not in Bages during the railway crisis.

The Junts Bages political group has asked the Catalan Government to make the C-16 toll road free up to Manresa as compensation for the chronically deficient Rodalies commuter rail service.

The party considers it a "new territorial grievance" that following the serious recent incident on Rodalies, the Government announced the toll removal on the C-32 in Garraf, but failed to apply any equivalent measure to the C-16, the main access route to Manresa and the Bages region.

It is unacceptable that faced with a serious incident on Rodalies, action is taken quickly in some territories while others suffering the same problem chronically are completely ignored.

Junts Bages demands that the C-16 toll remain free, at least up to Manresa, as long as the Rodalies service fails to guarantee minimum standards of quality, punctuality, and safety. They emphasize that the railway collapse is an "structural reality" forcing thousands of residents to use private vehicles.
This situation led Judith Toronjo, deputy for the Junts parliamentary group, to register several questions in the Parliament. The goal is to clarify the criteria followed by the Government, the economic cost of the measure, and specifically, why the same solution was not considered for Bages.
