The Manresa City Council opens two watercolor exhibitions at the Selves i Carner and Casal de les Escodines civic centers, featuring works by Albert Canal Bonavila and Magalí Sitjes Suaña during January.

The exhibition “El nostre tren” (Our Train), by Albert Canal Bonavila, opens at the Selves i Carner Civic Center and features 27 watercolors recreating the defunct railway line between Manresa and Berga, including stops and stations. This show has previously toured several municipalities in the Berguedà area.
Simultaneously, the Casal de les Escodines hosts “De bell antuvi” (From the Beginning) by local artist Magalí Sitjes Suaña, a display of thirty works focused on open landscapes (forests, seascapes) and two large-scale female portraits.
The associated program includes a talk by historian Rosa Serra Rotés on Thursday, January 15, about the social and economic impact of the train line (1881-1973) at Selves i Carner. Additionally, an urban sketching outing will take place on January 17, starting at the Casal de les Escodines.
Both exhibitions will swap locations in February. The Canal Bonavila show will move to the Casal de les Escodines, while the Sitjes Suaña exhibit will be hosted at the Selves i Carner Civic Center between the 5th and the 27th.
