The young midfielder Marc Bernal, born in Berga, made FC Barcelona history this March by scoring a brace in the Copa del Rey at just 18 years old.

The performance took place during the second leg of the semifinals against Atlético de Madrid. Despite a 3-0 victory, Hansi Flick's side could not overturn the aggregate score, which ended 4-3 in favor of the Madrid team.
At 18 years and 281 days, Bernal surpassed a record held since January 2009. Previously, the youngest player to score twice in a Cup match was Bojan Krkic, who achieved the feat against Espanyol.

"Barça showed character and several young players took a step forward in the most demanding stage."

Trained at La Masia, the player from Berga is now a key part of the first-team squad. He opened the scoring and added the third goal, while Raphinha scored the second from a penalty kick.
