The director emphasizes that the key to maintaining editorial independence is resistance to political pressure, a practice she has applied since her beginnings. She asserts that at RTVE they follow their own path, as their mission is not "to please," but to be the best and not contribute to increasing polarization.
Despite her long career in news, Sánchez-Maroto highlights the direction of the documentary series Nevenka (for Netflix) as the project she is most satisfied with. She is also proud of having achieved higher ratings for Telediario than Tele5, aiming to be relevant and recover young audiences.
