The Martorell Local Police intervened in a local grocery store this February after confirming the illegal sale of tobacco, including sales to minors.

The operation began following reports of irregularities at the shop. An undercover officer entered the premises and conducted a test purchase, successfully buying two individual cigarettes for 0.40 euros each.
During the subsequent inspection, officers found several open cigarette packs without the required tax seals hidden under the counter. All illegal products were immediately seized by the Local Police.
Authorities confirmed that these illegal sales were also made to underage customers. The case has been referred to the Guardia Civil, the authority responsible for tobacco market regulations.
