Protecció Civil activated the Neucat plan due to forecasts of intense snowfall throughout Saturday in Central Catalonia, with the snow line potentially dropping to 400 meters during peak precipitation.

The alert, issued by Meteocat, is in effect from 7 am until 7 pm on Saturday. Snow depth is expected to exceed 5 centimeters above 700 meters in altitude, with a maximum danger level of 3 out of 6.
The general snow line will be around 600 meters, but the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya warns that during moments of higher precipitation intensity, it could temporarily drop to 400 meters.

Traffic is particularly complicated on some roads in Alt Berguedà, such as the road leading to Rasos de Peguera, where about 5 centimeters of new snow have accumulated.

The six comarques with the highest risk of significant accumulation (over 5 cm above 700 meters) are Berguedà, Ripollès, La Selva, Osona, Lluçanès, and Moianès.
Snowfall was already reported on Saturday morning in areas including Alt Berguedà, Cerdanya, Alt Urgell, Solsonès, Bages, Moianès, and Anoia. In La Pobla de Lillet, the municipal brigade had to clear the snow-covered streets.
