An off-duty National Police officer saved the life of a 60-year-old tourist on February 14 at Montserrat, after the man suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.

The incident took place near the parking area of the Montserrat monastery. The officer, who was visiting the site with her family, found the victim unconscious on the ground. After confirming he had no pulse, she immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
For over 15 minutes, the officer performed chest compressions until the South Korean national regained a faint pulse. Her swift action was vital in keeping the man alive until SEM paramedics arrived at the scene.
The patient was rushed to Bellvitge Hospital, where he recovered and was eventually discharged on February 26. The officer later visited the family at the hospital, where they expressed their deep gratitude for her life-saving intervention.
