The young Fran Soriano, a resident of Sallent, was located safe and sound this Monday morning after being missing for eight days in the El Far sanctuary area of Susqueda.

The discovery was made possible by Father Josep Isern, head of the Mare de Déu del Far sanctuary. The priest became suspicious when he saw a vehicle parked at the site since Sunday, February 22nd. Although he initially thought it belonged to hikers, he decided to call the Mossos d'Esquadra on Wednesday, February 25th.

"I have to give bad news so often that when you have a good one, it makes your day."

The priest's alert allowed Girona officers to identify the car and contact the young man's family, confirming his disappearance. Following this, a search operation was launched involving drones, canine units, and Firefighters and police officers across the cliffs.
Ultimately, the young man himself called from his mobile phone this morning. According to his account, he became disoriented while hiking in the area. Despite being missing for eight days, he is reported to be in good health.
