The severe windstorm linked to Storm Nils has paralyzed Central Catalonia this Thursday, forcing the Government to suspend schools, sports activities, and non-urgent medical appointments.

The director of the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, Sarai Sarroca, warned that this is the most significant wind event in 15 years. Gusts exceeded 100 km/h in areas like Montserrat, causing major disruptions to Rodalies trains.

"The windstorm is top-tier, and today is just the first course."
