Storm Marta will hit Catalonia starting Saturday, forcing the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (SMC) to activate yellow warnings for wind gusts exceeding 70 km/h in ten regions.

After Storm Leonardo began to dissipate this Friday, the thirteenth storm of the season, named Marta, will arrive strongly in the Iberian Peninsula, particularly affecting Catalonia. The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (SMC) has issued yellow level warnings.
The wind warnings, for gusts exceeding 70 km/h, will be in effect from midnight Friday until noon Saturday, with the period of maximum intensity expected for Saturday morning. Affected regions include Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat, Garraf, Baix Penedès, Alt Penedès, Anoia, and Bages.
Given the risk of gusts exceeding 72 km/h, Protecció Civil has already activated the alert phase of the VENTCAT plan, initiating the necessary operations and procedures to manage any wind-related emergency.

Authorities ask citizens to take extreme precautions, especially in urban areas, given the danger posed by falling trees or street furniture due to the gale.

Beyond the wind, the weekend will be marked by atmospheric instability, with scattered clouds and showers across the territory. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly starting Saturday, although without major changes.
